  Description

Calculus 1 begins with the study of Limit Theory. It is usually the very first chapter in every Calculus book, and it frequently gives students problems because the concept of a limit and the definition of a limit as written in the books is usually difficult to understand.

This course focuses on the topic of limits in Calculus, and we assume that the student has never studied limits in the past. We introduce the concept of a limit with simple graphs and practical examples rather than a lengthy formal definition.

We then work numerous example problems to reinforce the concepts before moving on to the theorems and definitions that all calculus students must learn when studying limits.

We will cover the definition of a limit, techniques to solve limits, limit laws, continuity, and much more. As always, all concepts are taught by working problems so that the student will build skills.

The easiest way to learn this material is through step-by-step video lessons!

How are the MathTutorDVD Tutorial's different?

The answer is simple. Most instruction involves a lengthy discussion of the theory before instructing the student in how to solve problems.

In the vast majority of the cases the student quickly gets bored and frustrated by the time he or she starts to solve the problems. This course, in contrast, teaches all of the concepts by working fully worked problems step-by-step, which is a much more engaging way to learn.

  Exceptional value and affordability!

MathTutorDVD believes in providing value for our customers. All MathTutor DVD Tutorials cover between 3 and 14 hours of lectures, and considering the cost, each MathTutor DVD set therefore costs LESS than additional private tuition, and you may rewatch the lessons as many times as needed to master the material!

What is our teaching style like?

All topics on this DVD are taught by working example problems. There are no traditional lectures of background material that won't help you solve problems and improve your skills. We believe in teaching-by-doing and that is what you will receive by watching this DVD.

Undetermined coefficients is explained, for example, by working many problems in step-by-step detail. We begin with the easier problems and work our way up to the harder problems.

The student immediately gains confidence, does not get bored, and quickly feels like he or she can conquer the material. This method is extremely powerful and has proven itself time and again. Perhaps most importantly, problem solving skills are honed early on that will help with homework and taking exams even after watching the very first lesson.
